The DroneBot Workshop is the place to be if you are interested in working with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Electronics, Robotics, Internet of Things, Quadcopters and other high tech fun things. You'll learn how components work and how you can use them in your experiments, as well as fascinating projects you can build yourself.
PeerTube is a software that you install on a web server. It allows you to create a video hosting website, so create your "homemade YouTube".
The difference to YouTube is that it's not intended to create a huge platform centralizing videos from the whole world on a single server farm (which is horribly expensive).
On the contrary, PeerTube's concept is to create a network of multiple small interconnected video hosting providers.
There is now a complete Open Source tool chain for some FPGAs from Lattice Semiconductor. For a convincing video that these devices and the Open Source development tools are useful, see:
Introduction to the Open Source FPGA toolchain short or long@32c3 by Clifford Wolf
Forth on icestick by James BowmanThe ESP8266 is the answer to “I want something with Wifi.” Surprisingly, there are a number of engineers and hobbyists who have not heard of this chip or have heard of it but don’t really understand what it is. It’s basically the answer to everything IoT to so many engineering problems that have plagued the hobbyist and commercial world alike.
Building digital photo frames for family and friends using open-source hardware1 and free software in X=? minutes.
Let me introduce the Xposed framework, which gives you the possibility to modify your ROM - without modifying any APK (developers) or flashing (users)!
In PART 2, we are going to look at how to write simple playbooks, specifically we will learn about: Tasks, Handlers, Roles, Templates and Variables
For this scenario, the playbook that we are going to create will simply install and configure Apache web server (httpd) on the remote host. The main purpose of this tutorial however is to learn how to write playbooks effectively and correctly. So without further adieu, lets get started!
Ansible is a really powerful and useful tool when it comes to automating IT infrastructure. It is an easy to use configuration management system that can be used to automate and organize your system configuration tasks for a large network of computers.
IkeaHackers.net is a site about modifications on and repurposing of Ikea products. Hacks, as we call it here, may be as simple as adding an embellishment, some others may require power tools and lots of ingenuity.
