This PostgreSQL Python section shows you how to work with the PostgreSQL database using the Python programming language.
Python has various database drivers for PostgreSQL. Currently, the psycopg is the most popular PostgreSQL database adapter for the Python language. The psycopg fully implements the Python DB-API 2.0 specification.
The current version of the psycopg is 2 or psycopg2. The psycopg2 database adapter implemented in C as a libpq wrapper resulting in both fast and secure. The psycopg2 provides many useful features such as client-side and server-side cursors, asynchronous notification and communication, COPY command support, etc.
Besides, the psycopg2 driver supports many Python types out-of-the-box. The psycopg2 matches Python objects to the PostgreSQL data types, e.g., list to the array, tuples to records, and dictionary to hstore. If you want to customize and extend the type adaption, you can use a flexible object adaption system.

Learn Vimscript the Hard Way is a book for users of the Vim editor who want to learn how to customize Vim.
It is not a guide to using Vim. Before reading this book you should be comfortable editing text in Vim and know what terms like "buffer", "window" and "insert mode" mean.
The book is divided roughly into three sections:
- The first covers basic Vim commands that you can use in your ~/.vimrc file to customize Vim quickly and easily.
- The second looks more deeply at Vimscript as a programming language, covering things like variables, comparisons, and functions.
- The third walks through the creation of a sample plugin intended for distribution to other Vim users.
The book is copyright 2013 by Steve Losh, all rights reserved. You can redistribute this HTML version as long as you don't make any changes and don't charge for it.
The book will always be free to read online.
There’s an amazing amount of data available on the Web. Many web services, like YouTube and GitHub, make their data accessible to third-party applications through an application programming interface (API). One of the most popular ways to build APIs is the REST architecture style. Python provides some great tools not only to get data from REST APIs but also to build your own Python REST APIs.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn:
- What REST architecture is
- How REST APIs provide access to web data
- How to consume data from REST APIs using the requests library
- What steps to take to build a REST API
- What some popular Python tools are for building REST APIs
By using Python and REST APIs, you can retrieve, parse, update, and manipulate the data provided by any web service you’re interested in.
This teaches you bpftrace for Linux in 12 easy lessons, where each lesson is a one-liner you can try running. This series of one-liners introduces concepts which are summarized as bullet points. For a full reference to bpftrace, see the Man page

Starting Forth, First Edition is from 1981. These web pages were designed in 2003, when it became apparent that SF would never be re-issued by the copyright holder. A small supply of about 500 books was all that was left.
When you can get hold of the original, do so.
In this transcript Forth code has been ANSified. The samples should run on, at least, iForth and SwiftForth. Where necessary, statements that were valid in 1981 have been exchanged with statements more appropriate for 2003 (when this tribute was written).
Starting Forth is full of very difficult to reproduce graphics. These enormously enhance the text's mnemonic value, and are invaluable for a first-time Forth user. I have therefore added "substitute" graphic elements, roughly at the same spot where they are in the original. The original graphics are, of course, much better.
In this transcript I have assumed a 32-bit, byte-addressing Forth, with 8-bit characters. The address returned by WORD is assumed to be HERE. This allows the common trick of ALLOTing length of str CHARS after using WORD in order to compile string str to memory. Multitasking issues are ignored (e.g. no >TYPE, just TYPE). Division is symmetric, not floored, and two's complement is assumed throughout. Most Forths should not have problems with this. Chapter 7 exploits extended uses of number conversion. Some Forths are broken in this respect, but iForth and SwiftForth do support these neat features.

Interested in learning more about low-level specifics of the eBPF stack? Read on as we take a deep dive, from its VM mechanisms and tools, to running traces on remote, resource-constrained embedded devices.
BPF and eBPF are the same thing and the name/acronym doesn't mean much anymore because the project evolved way beyond its initial scope. BPF and eBPF are used interchangeably in the series.
Part 1 and 2 give a condensed in-depth introduction to eBPF for newcommers or those looking to further their knowledge by taking a deep dive into the lower part of the eBPF stack.
Part 3 is an overview of the userspace tooling meant to increase productivity, built on top of the low level VM mechanisms presented in parts 1 and 2.
Part 4 focuses on running eBPF programs on embedded systems which are resource constrained, where a full toolchain stack (BCC/LLVM/python/etc) is undesirable. We'll cross-compile and run eBPF programs on 32 bit ARM with smaller embedded-focused tools. Readers interested only in this part can probably skip the rest.
Part 5 is about tracing userspace: Up until now our efforts were focused on tracing the kernel, so it's about time we also examine other user processes.I recently worked on creating a bash completion script for one of my toy projects and I enjoyed it very much.
As you know, Python leverages polymorphism at its maximum by dealing only with generic references to objects. This makes OOP not an addition to the language but part of its structure from the ground up. Moreover, Python pushes the EAFP appoach, which tries to avoid direct inspection of objects as much as possible.
