In this tutorial, we will explore the conversion of Python scripts to Windows executable files in four simple steps. Although there are many ways to do it, we'll be covering, according to popular opinion, the simplest one so far.
Just a note to myself since I searched the internet for a long time to make this work…
I needed to test a really trivial change to the scsi tape driver code, but didn’t want to reboot an actual machine that has a tape drive. So I thought, maybe QEMU can pass-through an arbitrary device?

The sane way to manage software on Windows
- Chocolatey builds on technologies you know - unattended installation and PowerShell.
Chocolatey works with all existing software installation technologies like MSI, NSIS,
InnoSetup, etc, but also works with runtime binaries and zip archives. Go
Pro/Business to dial that experience up to 11! - Easily manage all aspects of Windows software (installation, configuration, upgrade,
and uninstallation). Chocolatey is the most reliable when software is included in the
package, but can also easily download resources. - Take advantage of PowerShell to provide automated software management instructions
and Chocolatey’s built-in module to turn complex tasks into one line function calls!
OpenStack Swift is the massively scalable object storage of OpenStack. It can store billions of objects in a single cluster without any disturbances. But what happens if all of your objects are "small objects"?
Because OpenStack Swift stores objects as files on XFS, disks will end-up storing millions of small files, creating large performance and stability issues. This is all related to the constraints of POSIX filesystems.
During this presentation, we will give you an overview of these issues, and explain their root causes. You will then discover what we tried to overcome them, as well as the chosen solution. Eventually, we will present you results of our production deployment.
S3 is a product from Amazon, and as such, it includes “features” that are outside the scope of Swift itself. For example, Swift doesn’t have anything to do with billing, whereas S3 buckets can be tied to Amazon’s billing system. Similarly, log delivery is a service outside of Swift. It’s entirely possible for a Swift deployment to provide that functionality, but it is not part of Swift itself. Likewise, a Swift deployment can provide similar geographic availability as S3, but this is tied to the deployer’s willingness to build the infrastructure and support systems to do so.

I recently worked on creating a bash completion script for one of my toy projects and I enjoyed it very much.
Aquaris-dev is a group of independent Android developers whose members voluntarily work on bq Aquaris devices as official maintainers of the LineageOS Android custom ROM. We aim to provide the newest version of Android (LineageOS) for as many of the latest bq Aquaris devices. We contribute our work to the LineageOS project (previously, we worked on CyanogenMod).

Ansible Runner is a tool and python library that helps when interfacing with Ansible directly or as part of another system whether that be through a container image interface, as a standalone tool, or as a Python module that can be imported. The goal is to provide a stable and consistent interface abstraction to Ansible. This allows Ansible to be embedded into other systems that don’t want to manage the complexities of the interface on their own (such as CI/CD platforms, Jenkins, or other automated tooling).
We use PostgreSQL extensively at Braintree, and it backs many of our highly available services (including our main payments API).
We are constantly building and refining our products, and this often means evolving our database schema. In general, PostgreSQL is great at this, and we can make many different types of schema changes without downtime. There are some gotchas, however, that this post will cover.
We’ve spent the last two years automating and improving our migration process to address key issues we were having — manual intervention, backwards compatibility, correctness, and performance. This post dives into the problems we ran into and highlights some learnings and tools we made along the way.
