The Guide to IP Layer Network Administration with Linux was conceived as a project to document and provide examples for the use of Linux-specific IP networking tools.
The book includes coverage of the following topics: network address translation (NAT), address resolution protocol (ARP), routing, and masquerading. There is a nascent section on bridging, although the focus of the documentation is the use of layer 3 Linux technologies.
Modeled after documents hosted at TLDP, this effort is a contribution to the Linux community undertaken of free will and in free time. I intend to release the completed guide to TLDP for inclusion in the documentation repository.
Open Kinetic is an open source Collaborative Project formed under the auspices of the Linux Foundation dedicated to creating an open standard around Ethernet-enabled, key/value Kinetic devices.
Kinetic is a drive architecture in which the drive is a key/value server with Ethernet connectivity. The architecture is inspired by the scale out data center in which Ethernet and Linux are ubiquitous, open source software reduces barriers to entry, and hardware is becoming more commoditized.
Open Network Switch Layer (OpenNSL) is a library of network switch APIs that is openly available for programming Broadcom network switch silicon based platforms. These open APIs enable development of networking application software based on Broadcom network switch architecture based platforms.
Broadcom's OpenFlow Data Plane Abstraction (OF-DPA) is an application software component that implements an adaptation layer between OpenFlow and the Broadcom Silicon SDK. OF-DPA enables scalable implementation of OpenFlow 1.3 on Broadcom switch devices
Time is Money. Understanding application responsiveness and latency is critical but good characterization of bad data is useless. Gil Tene discusses some common pitfalls encountered in measuring latency and response time behavior. He introduces how simple, open sourced tools can be used to improve and gain higher confidence in both latency measurement and reporting.
Inconsolata is my first serious original font release. It is a monospace font, designed for code listings and the like, in print. There are a great many "programmer fonts," designed primarily for use on the screen, but in most cases do not have the attention to detail for high resolution rendering.
