Python Fire is a library for automatically generating command line interfaces (CLIs) from absolutely any Python object.
- Python Fire is a simple way to create a CLI in Python. [1]
- Python Fire is a helpful tool for developing and debugging Python code. [2]
- Python Fire helps with exploring existing code or turning other people's code into a CLI. [3]
- Python Fire makes transitioning between Bash and Python easier. [4]
- Python Fire makes using a Python REPL easier by setting up the REPL with the modules and variables you'll need already imported and created. [5]
phpipam-pyclient is a REST-client CLI tool to interface with phpipam REST API. phpipam-pyclient leverages python fire and requests under the hood, some high level functions have been implementend to allow the user to quickly query certain information about the devices on phpipam. In addition, you can use this library to build your Ansible inventory by filtering a field/column of the devices on phpipam.
Katran is a C++ library and BPF program to build high-performance layer 4 load balancing forwarding plane. Katran leverages XDP infrastructure from the kernel to provide an in-kernel facility for fast packet's processing.
Katran's key features:
1) Blazing fast (especially w/ XDP in driver mode).
2) Performance scaling linearly with a number of NIC's RX queues.
3) RSS friendly encapsulation.

Free yourself from the shackles of WYSIWYG and TextArea wiki editors. Reach
unheralded levels of productivity by editing your Confluence wiki with the
most powerful text editor known to mankind: Vim!
confluence-vim
A vim plugin for taking notes in markdown and storing them in a confluence wiki.
It's really simple, I hope you like it.
You need to install html2text, markdown, and requests, and your vim needs to be compiled with python support. You also need to write your credentials in your .netrc file.
Password management should be simple and follow Unix philosophy. With pass, each password lives inside of a gpg encrypted file whose filename is the title of the website or resource that requires the password. These encrypted files may be organized into meaningful folder hierarchies, copied from computer to computer, and, in general, manipulated using standard command line file management utilities.
pass makes managing these individual password files extremely easy. All passwords live in ~/.password-store, and pass provides some nice commands for adding, editing, generating, and retrieving passwords. It is a very short and simple shell script. It's capable of temporarily putting passwords on your clipboard and tracking password changes using git.
You can edit the password store using ordinary unix shell commands alongside the pass command. There are no funky file formats or new paradigms to learn. There is bash completion so that you can simply hit tab to fill in names and commands, as well as completion for zsh and fish available in the completion folder. The very active community has produced many impressive clients and GUIs for other platforms as well as extensions for pass itself.
The pass command is extensively documented in its man page.
Three weeks ago I blogged about how to get rid of non-free Google services and moving to free software on my Android phone. I’ve got a lot of feedback via email, lwn, and Google+, many thanks to all of you for helpful hints! As this is obviously important to many people, I want to tie up some lose ends and publish the results of these discussions.
This first release of Kata Containers completes the merger of Intel’s Clear Containers and Hyper’s runV technologies, and delivers an OCI compatible runtime with seamless integration for container ecosystem technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
These calculators require the use of Javascript enabled and capable browsers. Compare information of original equipment tire size and alternate after market tire sizes. There are two flavors, one for U.S. designation tires and one for metric TRX designation tires. All calculations are designed to round up. Calculations are to be treated as approximate only, due to possible and probable variations in how tires are manufactured. The information in the Required area is needed to perform the comparison. The tire tread width, sidewall (aspect) ratio, and wheel rim diameter from each of the two tires to be compared, along with a speedometer reading used to compute the effect the after market tire size has on your speedometer's accuracy. The following is an example to help to decode a tire size like 195/70R15. The 195 is the tire width in millimeters, measured from the bottom of the bead to the bottom of the bead, the 70 is the sidewall aspect ratio, the ratio of sidewall height to tire width at the tread (indicating that the sidewall height is 70% of the tread width), and the 15 is the wheel rim diameter in inches. After the data entry of the required information, click on the Compare U.S. Tires button in the top calculator or Compare Metric Tires in the lower calculator to have the selected tire sizes compared. Adjusted Speedometer Reading is what speed the car will need to go if using the after market tires, to be traveling at the same speed if the car had the original tires on. It is an adjustment faster or slower from the original speed. Please select from U.S. or Metric comparisons.
Hybrid replication, i.e. combining Galera and asynchronous MySQL replication in the same setup, became much easier since GTID got introduced in MySQL 5.6. Although it was fairly straightforward to replicate from a standalone MySQL server to a Galera Cluster, doing it the other way round (Galera → standalone MySQL) was a bit more challenging. At least until the arrival of GTID.
I wanted to set up my own apt repository to distribute packages to my own computers. This repository must be PGP-signed, but I want to use my regular PGP key rather than a PGP key stored on the server, because I don’t want to trust my server with root access to my laptop.
Yes, it does! In this blog post, I am going to share my recent experiences with ProxySQL and how important the database software version number can be.
How do MySQL tables get corrupted? There are many ways to spoil data files. Often, corruption is due to defects in the underlying platform, which MySQL relies on to store and retrieve data - disk subsystem, controllers, communication channels, drivers, firmware or other hardware faults. Data corruption can also occur if the MySQL server daemon restarts suddenly, or your server reboots due to a crash of other OS components. If the database instance was in the middle of writing data to disk, it could write the data partially which may end up with a page checksum that is different than expected. There have also been bugs in MySQL so even if the server hardware is ok, MySQL itself can cause corruption.
Usually when MySQL data gets corrupted the recommendation is to restore it from the last backup, switch to DR server or take down the affected node if you have Galera cluster to serve data immediately from other nodes. In some cases you can't - if the backup is not there, the cluster was never set up, your replication is down for a very long time, or the DR procedure was never tested. Even if you have a backup, you may still want to take some actions to attempt recovery as it may take less time get back online.
