The installation of the Openvswitch on Ubuntu brings an automatic integration into the boot sequence. When Ubuntu is booted, the Openvswitch is also started. Any bridge or port, which has been defined in previous sessions, is restored.
BUT: No L3 interfaces are set up, junk interfaces, which have been defined in previous sessions, are restored.
The Guide to IP Layer Network Administration with Linux was conceived as a project to document and provide examples for the use of Linux-specific IP networking tools.
The book includes coverage of the following topics: network address translation (NAT), address resolution protocol (ARP), routing, and masquerading. There is a nascent section on bridging, although the focus of the documentation is the use of layer 3 Linux technologies.
Modeled after documents hosted at TLDP, this effort is a contribution to the Linux community undertaken of free will and in free time. I intend to release the completed guide to TLDP for inclusion in the documentation repository.
