Deliver fully-managed clusters at scale everywhere with your own Gardener installation
Setting up a new machine is time-consuming, and becomes complicated when it needs to be done remotely. If you're installing NixOS, the nixos-anywhere tool allows you to pre-configure the whole process including:
- Disk partitioning and formatting
- Configuring and installing NixOS
- Installing additional files and software
You can then initiate an unattended installation with a single CLI command. Since nixos-anywhere can access the new machine using SSH, it's ideal for remote installations.
Once you have initiated the command, there is no need to 'babysit' the installation. It all happens automatically.
You can use the stored configuration to repeat the same installation if you need to.

This is the default scripted installation you’ll encounter on the official Arch Linux Archinstall package as well as the unofficial ISO found on https://archlinux.life. It will guide your through a very basic installation of Arch Linux.
The installer has two pre-requisites:
A Physical or Virtual machine to install on
An active internet connection prior to running archinstallIf you're installing Debian and using preseeding to automate things, there are a lot of settings that you can change directly during the installation phase. Most of the useful things you might want to change are those for the installer itself (e.g. choice of disk partition layout, keyboard, language etc.). However, it is also possible to configure things up in a lot of other packages too if you know the appropriate runes. Finding out exactly what settings are possible can take quite a lot of effort.
Here is some help with that. I've written a script to extract all of the debconf templates in the Debian archive for each of the following releases, pulling out all the places where a template reflects a question or choice. Not all of these settings will make sense out of context, and some of them may not be sensible to use in a preseed. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! But I'm hoping this comprehensive listing might be useful for some people regardless.
I've only generated the set for amd64; other arches should be almost identical.
PyInstaller freezes (packages) Python applications into stand-alone executables, under Windows, GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, FreeBSD, Solaris and AIX.
PyInstaller’s main advantages over similar tools are that PyInstaller works with Python 2.7 and 3.4—3.7, it builds smaller executables thanks to transparent compression, it is fully multi-platform, and use the OS support to load the dynamic libraries, thus ensuring full compatibility
The sane way to manage software on Windows
- Chocolatey builds on technologies you know - unattended installation and PowerShell.
Chocolatey works with all existing software installation technologies like MSI, NSIS,
InnoSetup, etc, but also works with runtime binaries and zip archives. Go
Pro/Business to dial that experience up to 11! - Easily manage all aspects of Windows software (installation, configuration, upgrade,
and uninstallation). Chocolatey is the most reliable when software is included in the
package, but can also easily download resources. - Take advantage of PowerShell to provide automated software management instructions
and Chocolatey’s built-in module to turn complex tasks into one line function calls!
Tectonic is built on pure-upstream Kubernetes but has an opinion on the best way to install and run a Kubernetes cluster. This project helps you install a Kubernetes cluster the "Tectonic Way". It provides good defaults, enables install automation, and is customizable to meet your infrastructure needs.
Goals of the project:
Installation of Self-Hosted Kubernetes Cluster
Secure by default (use TLS, RBAC by default, OIDC AuthN, etcd)
Automatable install process for scripts and CI/CD
Deploy Tectonic on any infrastructure (Amazon, Azure, OpenStack, GCP, etc)
Runs Tectonic on any OS (Container Linux, RHEL, CentOS, etc)
Customizable and modular (change DNS providers, security settings, etc)
HA by default (deploy all Kubernetes components HA, use etcd Operator)
