Membrane provides all the tools you need to build a user interface. While all the pieces are built to work together, each piece is optional or can be mixed and matched with other implementations. For example, you could use your favorite UI framework and the other layers to reach another platform. Alternatively, you could provide your own ncurses graphics backend and leverage the ui framework and graphics model.
The three main pieces are:
- A UI framework, membrane.component, that provides state management for GUIs
- A platform agnostic model for graphics and events
- Multiple graphics backends that provide concrete implementations for #2
For membrane to run on a platform, the only requirements are:
- Drawing implementations for graphical primitives like shapes, text, and images
- An event loop that forwards events (eg. mouse clicks, key presses) to membrane and repaints
iLO automation from python or shell
HP servers come with a powerful out of band management interface called Integrated Lights out, or iLO. It has an extensive web interface and commercially available tools for centrally managing iLO devices and their servers.
But if you want to built your own tooling, integrate iLO management to your existing procedures or simply want to manage iLOs using a command-line interface, you're stuck manually creating XML files and using a perl hack HP ships called locfg.pl.
Enter python-hpilo!
Using the same XML interface as HP's own management tools, here is a python library and command-line tool that make it a lot easier to do all the above. No manual XML writing, just call functions from either python or your shell(script).

Click is a Python package for creating beautiful command line interfaces in a composable way with as little code as necessary. It’s the “Command Line Interface Creation Kit”. It’s highly configurable but comes with sensible defaults out of the box.
It aims to make the process of writing command line tools quick and fun while also preventing any frustration caused by the inability to implement an intended CLI API.
Click in three points:
-
arbitrary nesting of commands
-
automatic help page generation
-
supports lazy loading of subcommands at runtime
bpython is a fancy interface to the Python interpreter for Linux, BSD, OS X and Windows (with some work). bpython is released under the MIT License. It has the following (special) features:
- In-line syntax highlighting
- Readline-like autocomplete with suggestions displayed as you type.
- Expected parameter list for any Python function.
- "Rewind" function to pop the last line of code from memory and re-evaluate.
- Send the code you've entered off to a pastebin.
- Save the code you've entered to a file.
- Auto-indentation.
- Python 3 support.

container-storage-interface-working-group@googlegroups.comThe Kubernetes implementation of the Container Storage Interface (CSI) has been promoted to GA in the Kubernetes v1.13 release. Support for CSI was introduced as alpha in Kubernetes v1.9 release, and promoted to beta in the Kubernetes v1.10 release.
The GA milestone indicates that Kubernetes users may depend on the feature and its API without fear of backwards incompatible changes in future causing regressions. GA features are protected by the Kubernetes deprecation policy.
Varlink is an interface description format and protocol that aims to make services accessible to both humans and machines in the simplest feasible way.
A varlink interface combines the classic UNIX command line options, STDIN/OUT/ERROR text formats, man pages, service metadata and provides the equivalent over a single file descriptor, a.k.a. “FD3”.
Varlink is plain-text, type-safe, discoverable, self-documenting, remotable, testable, easy to debug. Varlink is accessible from any programming environment. See the Ideals page for more. And everybody likes Screenshots.

Modular visual interface for GDB in Python.
This comes as a standalone single-file .gdbinit which, among the other things, enables a configurable dashboard showing the most relevant information during the program execution. Its main goal is to reduce the number of GDB commands issued to inspect the current program status allowing the programmer to focus on the control flow instead.
