A collection of Git extensions to provide high-level repository operations for Vincent Driessen's branching model. This fork adds functionality not added to the original branch.
Repo is a tool built on top of Git. Repo helps manage many Git repositories, does the uploads to revision control systems, and automates parts of the development workflow. Repo is not meant to replace Git, only to make it easier to work with Git. The repo command is an executable Python script that you can put anywhere in your path.

There's not a single month where I don't have to explain this. I thought it'd be a good opportunity to write about this .gitignore file so everyone is up to date on this magic file.
It seems everyone uses GitHub these days (~8 million users, 20 million projects). It's not a bad solution, but there are some drawbacks (you might not want Microsoft looking at your private code), and whether you're just looking to host your own project or setup enterprise-wide git hosting, there are other ways to host your projects in Git. Let's take a look at some options below. Also, Comparison of git hosting options is a detailed analysis prepared by the Peers community in 2016.

I wanted to set up my own apt repository to distribute packages to my own computers. This repository must be PGP-signed, but I want to use my regular PGP key rather than a PGP key stored on the server, because I don’t want to trust my server with root access to my laptop.
Distributing software efficiently accross your platform can be difficult. Every distribution comes with a package manager which is usually suited for this task. APT can be relied upon on when using Debian or a derivative.
Unfortunately, the official repositories may not contain everything you need. When you require unpackaged software or more recent versions, it is possible to setup your own local repository.
Most of what is presented here was setup for Dailymotion and was greatly inspired by the work done by Raphaël Pinson at Orange.

It’s been 3 months since I first wrote about our efforts to scale Git to extremely large projects and teams with an effort we called “Git Virtual File System”. As a reminder, GVFS, together with a set of enhancements to Git, enables Git to scale to VERY large repos by virtualizing both the .git folder and the working directory. Rather than download the entire repo and checkout all the files, it dynamically downloads only the portions you need based on what you use.
White Rabbit provides sub-nanosecond accuracy and picoseconds precision of synchronization for large distributed systems. It also allows for deterministic and reliable data delivery.
White Rabbit allows you to precision time-tag measured data and lets you trigger data taking in large installations while at the same time using the same network to transmit data.
- sub-nanosecond synchronization
- connecting thousands of nodes
- typical distances of 10 km between nodes
- Ethernet-based gigabit rate reliable data transfer
- fully open hardware, firmware and software
- multi-vendor commercially produced hardware
White Rabbit is a fully deterministic Ethernet-based network for general purpose data transfer and synchronization. It can synchronize over 1000 nodes with sub-ns accuracy over fiber lengths of up to 10 km. Commercially available.
This website aims to be the starting point for people wondering how to use and manage and harware RAID HBAs on GNU/Linux.
There are many vendor and model of hardware controllers. Some are fully supported on Linux, some are nearly unusable.
Having a kernel driver for the card is the first thing needed. However, once it's done the sysadmin needs to be able to manage, and of course to keep in touch with the disks status to be able to replace a failed disk as soon as possible.
This aspect is really important and we will try to tell you most of all we know about opensource and proprietary tools used to report card and disks status.
Please notice the information available on this site have been provided by sysadmin on their free time in the hope it could be useful.
There's of course no warranty about all what's written or downloadable here. However we do our best to have fully verified informations.
