Repo is a tool built on top of Git. Repo helps manage many Git repositories, does the uploads to revision control systems, and automates parts of the development workflow. Repo is not meant to replace Git, only to make it easier to work with Git. The repo command is an executable Python script that you can put anywhere in your path.

OAuth allows websites and services to share assets among users. It is widely accepted, but be aware of its vulnerabilities.
Since the beginning of distributed personal computer networks, one of the toughest computer security nuts to crack has been to provide a seamless, single sign-on (SSO) access experience among multiple computers, each of which require unrelated logon accounts to access their services and content. Although still not fully realized across the entire internet, myriad, completely unrelated websites can now be accessed using a single physical sign-on. You can use your password, phone, digital certificate, biometric identity, two-factor authentication (2FA) or multi-factor authentication (MFA) SSO solution to log onto one place, and not have to put in another access credential all day to access a bunch of others. We have OAuth to thank for much of it.

Recommended practices for all elements of automation using Ansible, starting with collections and roles, continuing with playbooks, inventories and plug-ins... These good practices are planned to be used by all Red Hat teams interested but can of course be used by others.
Ansible is simple, flexible, and powerful. Like any powerful tool, there are many ways to use it, some better than others.
This document aims to gather good practices from the field of Ansible practitioners at Red Hat, consultants, developers, and others. And thus it strives to give any Red Hat employee, partner or customer (or any Ansible user) a guideline from which to start in good conditions their automation journey.
Those are opinionated guidelines based on the experience of many people. They are not meant to be followed blindly if they don’t fit the reader’s specific use case, organization or needs; there is a reason why they are called good and not best practices.
The reader of this document is expected to have working practice of Ansible. If they are new to Ansible, the Getting started section of the official Ansible documentation is a better place to start.

There are times when you’ll want to publish your docs to Confluence, such as when you work in a team where not everyone wants to work with Git. docToolchain lets you publish your Git-based docs to Confluence alongside manually edited Confluence pages.

When you work in a restricted environment where you don’t have direct access to the internet, you might need a self-contained version of docToolchain. A version which does not need to download dependencies but already has them on board.

iLO automation from python or shell
HP servers come with a powerful out of band management interface called Integrated Lights out, or iLO. It has an extensive web interface and commercially available tools for centrally managing iLO devices and their servers.
But if you want to built your own tooling, integrate iLO management to your existing procedures or simply want to manage iLOs using a command-line interface, you're stuck manually creating XML files and using a perl hack HP ships called locfg.pl.
Enter python-hpilo!
Using the same XML interface as HP's own management tools, here is a python library and command-line tool that make it a lot easier to do all the above. No manual XML writing, just call functions from either python or your shell(script).
